It is the third largest parliamentary building in the world with its 691 rooms, its 20 km tall stairs reaching 96 meters high. The building, at the same height as Saint Stephen’s Basilica, symbolizes the balance between this equality and the state affairs. In the 1880s, a competition was launched for the design of the new parliament building, and Imre Steindl’s design was first in the competition. The designs that took second and third place in the competition were also made to the Buddha section of the city in a way that coincides directly with the Parliament Building. These are the Ethnography Museum and the buildings of the Ministry of Agriculture.
